Treat Spot Review #2 - Crème, Soho

THE CONCEPT

Crème is highly reputed London Treat Spot offering coffee, enormous cookies and soft-serve ice-cream. Crème draws its inspiration for the oversized cookies from New York and France, by mastering freshly baked cookies with ample butter and sugar. Head Chef Damien Leroux’s baking excellence was cultivated in France, where his family ran a brasserie in the humble town of Châteaudun, Northern France. His training in classic French patisserie benefited from the guidance of the impressive Alain Ducasse as well as work in 3 Michelin-Starred establishments, Le Louis XV (Monaco) and The Dorchester (London).

Crème freshly bakes the cookies every day, so you will enjoy the warmth of the cookies straight from the tray and across the capital, it is extremely highly rated. On its website, Crème accentuates its rave reviews from heavy-hitters such as Vogue, GQ and ELLE.

In addition to its treat offerings, you can also purchase Crème memorabilia, which is displayed on the right of the shop as you walk in.

MY TREAT CHOICE

I was overwhelmed for choice but opted for a trio of different cookies: The Banana Dark Chocolate, The White Chocolate Miso & The Milk Chocolate.

THE FEE

The cookies are quite expensive, largely as a result of Crème’s reputation as the best spot for cookies in London. You can purchase individual cookies, however, which I would suggest, as they are VERY filling!

THE REVIEW

This has to be your go-to spot for cookies in London. They are incredible when warm, with thick, gooey chocolate chips melting in your mouth. The flavours are creative, although the standard, Milk Chocolate Cookie, for me is my favourite. Located in a small space in Soho, you may miss Crème, but do give it a visit if you are passing through, as you will not regret it. I am sure they will expand into different locations in no time.

Room for Improvement?

It really is hard to fault Crème, as the cookies are next-level. I would be excited to see if they extend their repertoire by formulating new flavours! We shall see…
